The Purpose

We're launching a groundbreaking new team at IAG dedicated to pioneering fraud prevention strategies and overseeing investigations. With a focus on contributing to a $400 million per annum reduction in claims costs, your role will be pivotal in shaping our industry-leading approach.

This role will provide fraud risk management support for the Australian insurance divisions and oversee the execution on the Fraud and Investigations strategy through governance, quality assurance and supplier management activities.

As the Manager of Fraud Risk & Operations, you’ll be the point of escalation for complex issues, working with the Fraud and Investigations leadership team to develop and manage the fraud strategy within IAG’s risk management framework. You’ll also assess fraud risk across the customer journey, collaborate with other risk functions, and oversee governance activities.

Role Responsibilities

Be the point of escalation for complex issues and problems. Work with the Fraud and Investigations leadership team to foster a culture of continuous learning, growth and development. Maintain and manage the fraud strategy within IAG’s risk management framework and oversee governance activities. Identify and assess fraud risk across the customer journey and insurance value chain. Collaborate with other first line risk functions to ensure fraud risk and controls are adequately captured and reflected in the risk management infrastructure. Maintain and embed the quality assurance framework for Fraud and Investigations. Develop and execute a framework for the ongoing strategic management of a panel of external investigation partners and other relevant suppliers. Oversee the management of investigations suppliers, including monitoring of performance and execution of quality assurance activities. Build capabilities within the Fraud and Risk Operations Team to effectively respond to current and emerging fraud risks.

About You

Bachelor’s degree in Fraud Risk Management, Law, Criminology, Intelligence or a related field. Extensive experience in managing fraud risk management activities. Strong understanding of risk management principles Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team of investigators. Good understanding of fraud and corruption risks relevant to the general insurance industry Thorough understanding of insurance regulations, compliance requirements, and legal frameworks relevant to fraud investigations Strong fraud industry relationships Demonstrated experience in effectively leading business initiatives and collaborating with key stakeholders
